
This
course provides the students with practical skills in pronouncing English
words, phrases, and sentences in dialogues and passages. The practical
component focuses on students’ practice of pronouncing letters and sounds;
Syllables, words and sentences in dialogues and passages with the lecturer
giving the model pronunciation and providing supervision and feedback. The
production of sound is emphasized when pronouncing words, stress patterns when
pronouncing phrases and intonation when pronouncing sentences. Students have
lots of practices in transcribing words, phrases and sentences in dialogues and
passages. In this course, they will work on a variety of learning activities
and tasks (i.e., games, group work, pair work, etc.) both individually and
collaboratively.
