Second Language Acquisition unit is a three credit points subject that deal mainly with  how second or foreign language is acquired and learned.  This core unit is an integral part of Material Development and TEFL course. It sets a basic theory under which learning  materials and teaching design are developed. This unit course  focus on the area of  Krashen's Theory of Second Language Acquisition,  stages of SLA,  individual variation, attitude and aptitude, constructive analysis, error Analysis and Inter-language.

After working through this unit students are expected to make an explicit connection between theory of SLA and classroom practice . They are able to consider some effective ways to develop material and learning activities for EFL class, and develop strategies for extending their knowledge of EFL teaching and learning
